There is more To Miami than “South Beach”

As much as i love living in Palm Beach county i sometime need to get away and remind myself what city life is like.. and that’s why once in a while, me and Italian Fiat 500 drive down to Miami for a short getaway.

Even though the general idea of Miami is South Beach party life, I️ do think that there is so much more to it in this interesting American/ Latino city of South Florida. So, here is my advice for a short but unforgettable day visit into Miami :

First: I️ recommend spending the morning visiting Key Biscayne, a little paradise island away from south beach party life. long beaches, cycle paths, the seaquarium and a variety of great restaurants. Personally, my favorite is the Rusty Pelican. by the water front, which will give you stunning view of the city skyline. Having lunch here is a must for me when i come to Miami.

This European style mansion was owned by the industrialist James Deering and is a magical place to visit if you are in the area. Usually, 1-1/5 hours is enough time to visit the villa and its beautiful gardens.

And finally pay a visit to Brickell neighborhood, a vibrant cultural and full of restaurants area of Miami and enjoy an happy hour drink at Balans Cafe. ( A very trendy place among locals here). Balans restaurant and bar Yes, Ocean Drive, the South Beach trendy scene and the Art Deco District are also cool spots to check out when you are in Miami but i will leave that part of the story to other bloggers to tell..

I hope some of you will find this useful!
